RALEIGH REVEALED: PROCESS

For the Making Raleigh Legible project, I collaborated in a group of four to create a speculative web presence illuminating some aspect of Raleigh, NC. We decided to focus on Raleigh’s history of gardens and characteristically lush greenery. In order to ground our process, we used Kevin Lynch’s The Image of the City as a framework and mapped different aspects of our site to Lynch’s concepts of paths, edges, districts, nodes, and landmarks. Our process included brainstorming through different types of mapping to determine the most innovative way to create a virtual narrative that was also a journey through a garden.

Collaborative partners: Cady Bean-Smith, Samyul Kim, and Rebecca Tegtmeyer
